What a wonderful animal loving place. The people who work here are saints in my book. Every day they spend their time trying to help scared and lost animals find forever homes. The site is clean, well run, and does a fantastic service for the state.
Loved it and my beautiful & loving 13 year old doggie Scarlett. She's a real sweetheart and gets along great with our other doggie Butternut.
An aggressive staff member came barreling out of the back building and snapped at me for walking towards the back cat area. She got so mad at me for being there. She snidely exclaimed that they didn't open until 10:30. This occurred at 10:25. Ok. Google shows that they open at 9:30 so I guess that me being there at 10:25 was completely unreasonable, wrong, terrible, evil and with complete ill intent in the eyes of this staff member. That's fine. I'll adopt elsewhere from now on. However, I feel sorry for the poor cats and dogs that are at the mercy of this lady.
My dog was brought in after being hit by a car and they lost her. They see her in the system but she is physically lost. How does this happen ?the lady who returned my call was extremely rude and unprofessional. I will not be adopting from this location ever again.
Josiah was absolutely wonderful, he quickly helped us find our Furever friend Ari,
He was kind, patient and extremely helpful!
This animal shelter is kept extremely clean, and the staff is so kind and helpful! Will definitely keep coming to this shelter! 😄😄
The only reason why i rated this place a 3 was not because of the place it's because whenever you leave that place you feel so sad, angry and your heart is broken. If i lived in the mountains on a good big piece of land i would adopt every dog and puppy that they have. Even if they were sick, or on their dying bed because they all deserve to know what a happy loving family and to bed outside of a 9 by 9 kennel to run and live happy and free!!! God please answer my prayers.
I was looking forward to meeting two dogs a Cairn terrier and a Pug mix. They ended up not being for me due to a bite issue and a surgery issue. However there are so many wonderful dogs. I'm sure to keep checking. I am still looking for my forever buddy. This place is clean, people are willing to stop and lend their help. Nice faces everywhere.
It was hard to choose, as there are SO many animals. Luckily, the staff was very helpful and brought us Minerva (Koda).
The logistics of adopting at Eastside were quick and easy; we're definitely happy with that experience.
They all need good homes,
So many beautiful, loving dogs, hard to choose. They all were cared for, it's hard some that bark are just telling you the humans they want a home and to go walking with a loving person who has time in there life.
The adoption side of the facility was a nice and positive experience. Employees were pleasant and friendly. They took time to answer my questions and I adopted two kittens.
One of the kittens needed to return for rabies vaccine in 60 days.
I had some free time and decided to drive down and take care of it. Upon entering I read a sign in the door that said the rabies clinic is only on Saturday and Sunday 1-3, and it was a Wednesday.
I decided to go inside to confirm, it was probably my mistake because I most likely misplaced a paper that told me the times. But, it never hurts to check if they could do it by chance anyway, although I was doubtful, and again, it was my mistake.
I walk inside and I greeted the women behind the counter at reception, yes, I greeted them both nicely, right off. I was bummed but I kindly asked one woman there to confirm it was only on the weekends.
Another woman, whom I was not speaking to says out loud as if I'm not there,
"oh, she knew the clinic wasn't today and she came anyway"
to which I looked at her and said,
"well, no, not initially, I read it on the door on my way in"...
Then the woman I was not talking to says out loud, again as if I'm not there, "oh, she's full of excuses, isn't she?"
The woman I was speaking to rifled through my paper work to prove I was informed (?), and did not find it either, btw... although I did once again take responsibility that it was most likely my own misunderstanding.
I am not sure if this smug Karen thought she was being cute, was just having a bad day, maybe she just transferred from the mvd, maybe someone peed on her Cheerios, maybe I interrupted nap time, I don't honestly know... but maybe bring a rosery and some holy water or something, heck, bring a priest if you plan on going to the clinic side. It was completely uncalled for and extremely rude. I think I left stunned because it was so random and unprovoked. I'll be praying for you Karen, I hope today was just a one of those days and she's not like that everyday.
